Principal Sourcing Officer in the US at Vanderbilt Health: Ensures that all approved products are purchased under cost-effective contracts. Identifies and coordinates all contracting opportunities for new and used equipment, supplies, and services. Products and vendors are evaluated.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manages complex areas and products’ existing contracts and supplier relationships.
  • Negotiates complex contracts to ensure ongoing cost savings and dependability.
  • Performs financial analysis and needs assessment for purchases and products, taking into account total cost impact.
  • Using benchmarking data identifies all types of cost-cutting opportunities.
  • Buyers’ purchasing strategies are communicated to them.

PURCHASING (ADVANCED): Recognizes the concepts underlying supplier relations and supply chain management. Handles supplier-related activities, pricing requests, and purchases of goods and services, all while ensuring proper costs, schedules, quality, deliveries, terms, and conditions.
