Southampton Man Collects $100K Lottery Win

A Southampton man is celebrating winning $100,000 playing the lottery.

The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation says James Greenway won the May 9 LottoMax draw after matching six out of seven encore numbers in the correct order.

The 56-year-old project control specialist is a longtime lottery player. After checking his ticket on the OLG app, he discovered the big win.

“My wife and I were in shock,” Greenaway recalls. “When the winning music started, we danced!”

Greenway told OLG that he hasn’t made any big plans for his winnings yet, other than buying some new Muskoka chairs.

The winning ticket was purchased from Vanderdorf’s Your Independent Grocer on Goderich Street in Port Elgin.
