The program is open to transnational undergraduate and graduate scholars from the different corridors of the world. No IELTS or any other language test is needed. generally, around 80 scholars in each program are named to join the program annually.

Applied Physics, Electrical, Electronics Engineering, General or Civil Engineering; IT, mathematics, and robotics; Accoutrements and Surface Science; Mechanical Engineering.

Financial Benefits of CERN Technical Studentship

All participants shortlisted and selected for this program will be fully funded. CERN will cover:

  • Association agreement from 4 to 12 months.
    Allowance of 3319 Swiss francs per month( net of duty).
    A round airfare trip allowance.
    Depending on your particular circumstances, a supplement if you’re wedded and/ or have children.
    Coverage through CERN’s comprehensive health insurance scheme( the donation will be automatically subtracted from your allowance).
    days of paid leave per month.
    Are you presently studying for a bachelorette’s or master’s degree? Or graduate must apply for a summer externship in Switzerland.

Eligibility Criteria & Qualifications

  • You are a citizen of a CERN Member or Associate Member State and studying in a Member State or Associate Member State.
  • You must have completed at least 18 months of your undergraduate studies (Bachelor’s or Masters’s) by the time of the next Student Selection Committee in February 2023.
  • You remain registered as a full-time student during the internship.
  • You have a good knowledge of English or French.
