We seek to translate research-backed evidence into practical tools and approaches that can be understood and used by a range of heritage professionals, from volunteers and collection managers to conservators and decision-makers.

As a Building Services Engineer, you will be expected to:

  • Conduct assessments and advise heritage institutions across Canada on building-related issues (eg building envelope, building systems including HVAC, fire protection, and security systems).
  • Initiate research projects on topics relevant to CCI’s strategic priorities (eg improving energy efficiency in facilities, and addressing high risks to heritage collections).
  • Provide training for heritage professionals and facility managers on building-related issues.
  • Disseminate information and research at professional conferences and publications in Canada and abroad.
  • Develop and advance your knowledge of issues that may affect heritage institutions in Canada, with an emphasis on those that have building-related impacts, to better support the heritage community.
  • Represent CCI in various settings (such as committees, working groups, and meetings) related to the duties of the position and the area of ​​protection.
