  • The Oncology Medical Social Worker is responsible for providing specialty oncology social work support to cancer clients of all ages, their families, and identified groups.

  • Typically, the above qualifications would be attained by: A baccalaureate Degree in Social Work; master’s preparation preferred; a minimum of five (5) years of clinical counseling experience in a health care setting; a minimum of two years of clinical counseling experience in a cancer care setting preferred.
  • Yearly registration and continuing competency through the Registrar, Professional Licensing of the GNWT, and Department of Health and Social Services are required.
