The Charles Darwin University Scholarship 2023–2024 is a funded scholarship for international students. This scholarship is available for bachelor’s, master’s, doctoral, and training programs. There are two kinds of scholarships that are fully funded.Up to fifty percent of tuition is covered by four types of partially funded scholarships.

The Charles Darwin University Scholarships come in the following varieties:
Vice-Scholarships Chancellor’s for International High Achievers (VCIHAS): The scholarship applies to an undergraduate or postgraduate course-based degree and covers 50 percent or 25 percent of the tuition fee for the duration of the program.
The CDU Global Excellence Award: The scholarships apply to an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree and cover 50% of the tuition fee for the first year of study and 10% for each year thereafter.

  • The CDU Global Leader Award is a scholarship for an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree, covering 25% of the tuition fee for the first year of study and 10% for each subsequent year.
  • The CDU Global Achiever Award: This award applies to an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree and covers 15% of the first year’s tuition fee.
  • Vocational Education and Training (VET) Distinction Scholarship: The scholarship applies to a Vocational Education and Training (VET) qualification and is a one-off $3,000 payment towards your first-year tuition fee.
  • These are fully-funded doctoral research scholarships.
  • Grants for the Northern Territory: The awards recognize the academic excellence, leadership qualities, and community involvement of students. They contribute to the student’s tuition fees and are for higher education—undergraduate and graduate ($12,000).

Eligibility Criteria for Charles Darwin University Scholarships

You may submit an application for Charles Darwin University Scholarships if you:

  • English is the required language.
  • All countries around the world are eligible.
  • Submit evidence of academic excellence and high accomplishment in previous relevant studies and credentials.
  • must meet the academic and English requirements for admission to the university.
  • Hold an admission offer to CDU’s degree program.
  • not possess a scholarship from an Australian or foreign sponsoring organization.
  • not currently hold Australian citizenship, permanent residency in Australia, or New Zealand citizenship.

Scholarship recipientsterms and conditions

  • Each semester, maintain a full-time enrollment of 40 credit points;
  • Pay the tuition fee scholarship directly to your student account up to two weeks after each semester’s census date.
  • Maintain satisfactory academic progress each semester in pursuit of a degree from CDU with a minimum GPA of 5.3% and no failing grades in any subject;
  • The scholarship is non-cashable, non-refundable, and non-transferable to another individual, course, or academic year.
  • Recipients must pay international fees, not domestic fees.
  • not withdraw from or take a leave of absence from the units or course of study without the Office of International Services’ prior approval;
  • Awardees must abide by the Student of the  Student of the University By-laws (PDF 9KB)
  • Scholarship recipients are required to immediately notify the International Office via email at international@cdu.edu.au of any changes to their visa status, as failure to do so may result in the scholarship being terminated.
