Health Unit Coordinator jobs in US at Harris Health System: The Health Unit Coordinator (HUC I) is responsible for the daily (shift) clerical operations and activity coordination in a nursing unit (s). The HUC I collaborates with the charge nurse to facilitate and support unit operations and ensure that patient needs are met. The HUC I monitors and facilitates compliance with certain environmental, process safety, and regulatory standards, as well as the upkeep of unit supplies and equipment. The HUC I serves as the focal point for unit activity and communication. The HUC I possesses knowledge of medical terminology, communication skills, organizational skills, technical skills, clerical functions, and computer skills. Personal and professional effectiveness is demonstrated by the HUC I.

Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or the equivalent.

Related training and/or college-level courses, as well as three (3) years of comparable experience, are preferred.

Basic Life Support from an American Heart Association (AHA)-approved hospital-based program.

Other certificates as needed by the unit/service

Special Conditions:

Above-average verbal communication skills (Heavy Public Contact)

Medical Terminology, Personal Computer, and Word Processing

Weekends, Holidays, and Flexibility Efficient organizational skills

Equipment Operated:

Equipment Operated: \sCompetent in the use of desktop computers and basic office software.

Fax machines, printers, scanners, and telecommunication systems are examples of office equipment.
