Cook Jobs In Canada With Visa Sponsorship 2023: IWK Health is a well-respected academic health sciences center located in Halifax, Nova Scotia, that provides tertiary and primary care to two million children, adolescents, adults, and families in the Atlantic region each year. We have approximately 4000 employees, physicians, volunteers, and students throughout Nova Scotia.
With a focus on training and mentorship opportunities, IWK Health helps individuals build careers. We acknowledge one another’s abilities and celebrate our successes. We work in modern facilities or virtually from home, align our work with our company’s values, and have access to enhanced benefits and wellness programs. We are proud to support our patients, families, and communities, and we are appreciative of the generosity of our donors.
Important to us is fostering an anti-racist environment and calling out discrimination as we work and provide care. We are situated in Mi’kma’ki, the Mi’kmaq people’s unceded and ancestral territory. Working in Mi’kma’ki and providing care to those across Atlantic Canada is a privilege shared with the indigenous people who lived here for tens of thousands of years prior to colonization.
There are thirteen First Nation communities in Nova Scotia and over fifty African Nova Scotian communities with a long, rich, and complex history dating back more than four centuries. We have the highest percentage of disabled people in the nation. The proportion of transgender and non-binary people in Nova Scotia is the highest of any province or territory in the country.
We are active in our efforts to eradicate discrimination, but we must do more to build trust, recognize our biases, and reduce the obstacles faced by our diverse communities. We want IWK Health to be a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for the care we provide and the jobs we offer. We encourage all applicants who self-identify as Indigenous, Black or African Nova Scotians, Persons of Color, Immigrants or Newcomers, Persons with Disabilities, or 2SLGBTQIA+ to help us achieve our goal of having a workforce that is representative of the patients, families, and communities we serve at all job levels.
