Associate Engineer, Structural:

This profession requires the planning and design of structures and facilities such as bridges, tunnels, pumping stations, and other infrastructure buildings. In addition, you may assist with field inspections and inspection report preparation.

Responsibilities:

• Handles a variety of engineering activities and may specialize in Civil Engineering subdisciplines such as structural and/or geotechnical engineering.
• Responsible for engineering calculations, material quantity take-offs, estimates, surveys, and designs.
• Under careful supervision, designs engineering products that meet customer quality specifications by applying engineering theories and methods.
• Does a variety of engineering and design tasks require the application of fundamental ideas and theories learned in a four-year university engineering curriculum and data available in the engineering field?

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or related field)

Assistant Civil Engineer:

Duties

• Helps in the preparation of thorough procurement requests for materials, services, and subcontracts.
• Assists a more senior engineer in examining drawings and technical bid analysis submitted by suppliers. Helps in the preparation and distribution of building specifications, data sheets, and other documentation.
• Contributes to the work of CAD Designers/Drafters on the same project.
• Assist in preparing presentations for Customers.
• The engineer will be expected to do CAD-related duties while using specialized 3D software and creating models.
• When appropriate, performs additional activities connected with this role.
• Generate utility cross-sections in accordance with the specifications of local authorities in the Gulf region, such as RTA (Dubai), DMT (Abu Dhabi), MOMRA (KSA), etc.
• Experience and understanding in preparing and developing hydraulic models for pressure utilities, design reports, and the usage of Bentley WaterCAD / WaterGems / Open Utilities / SewerGems or related software with the assistance of a Senior Engineer.

Requirements:

• Civil Engineering degree from a reputed university
• Up to two years of experience designing wet utility distribution systems, such as potable water, firefighting, irrigation, and sewerage networks.
• Experienced with load demand estimations for big private and/or government ventures.
• Knowledgeable of Water / Irrigation / Firefighting / Sewage Authority regulations such as DEWA, ADDC/ ADWEA / TRANSCO, DM, ADM, DCD, ADCD, and other relevant Gulf authorities.
• Knowledgeable of the hydraulic design requirements for the Pump stations.
• Knowledgeable in British and American codes, as well as DEWA/DM requirements for potable water and irrigation designs.
• Desired: Expertise negotiating with DEWA / DM to acquire NOCs and Design Approvals.
