About Opportunity

  • Jacobs is seeking a Civil Engineer to support the production and monitoring of the nuclear island buildings for the Hinkley Point C Project. This position requires close collaboration with a large number of stakeholders from various disciplines and the development of technical solutions to support the project’s delivery. Principal responsibilities include:
  • Responsible for ensuring that the civil design sequence and its associated dates and milestones are adhered to for the assigned buildings.
  • Collect, analyze, and validate the consistency of input data from prior projects and other disciplines.
    Specific coordination of equipment load input data, management of load evolution and potential design impact.
  • Operational management of a team within this service, including monitoring workload and assigning tasks based on the skills and competencies of each team member, with assistance from the Civil group lead as required.
  • Produce deliverables for which they are accountable and ensure that they are submitted to the proper approval levels and follow the proper procedure.
  • Perform technical checks on civil engineering design notes, models, and schematics.
    Prepare and preside over status meetings or participate in maturity and gate reviews with stakeholders.
  • Participate in CDM reviews and manage the Design Risk Register
  • Manage the numerous parties involved in the engineering design process
  • Anticipate and raise alerts regarding technical gaps or contractual issues.
  • Managing project requirements as defined by the Building Manager in terms of cost, quality, and schedule.
