List of Canadian Scholarships 2023/24 – NO IELTS
Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation Scholarships
These scholarships for humanities and social sciences are open to both domestic (including permanent residents) and international students. The awards are worth $20,000 CAD per year and are for students pursuing a Ph.D. 25% of the fund is set aside for international applicants. Additionally, scholarship recipients have the opportunity to join the Scholar’s community, which provides them with valuable insights.
University of Manitoba Scholarships
The University of Manitoba spends a staggering $2,000,000 annually on graduate student scholarship programs. These awards are reserved for masters and doctoral candidates. Medical students and MBA candidates are not eligible to apply for this scholarship.
Master’s students can receive 14,000 CAD annually and can apply again the following year (the total worth of the scholarship would be 28,000 CAD if the students manage to get the scholarship for two consecutive years). Doctoral candidates are eligible for annual awards of up to $18,000 CAD. This award is renewable for a maximum of four years.
The University of Waterloo Scholarships
Through its Excellence Scholarship Program, the University of Waterloo awards scholarships to Master’s students enrolled in research-based Master’s programs. Students from all academic disciplines are welcome to apply. The evaluation of candidates will be based on their complete profiles.
The value of the award per semester is $2,500, CAD. It may be renewed for a maximum of five semesters. Therefore, there is no need to submit a separate application; all students will be automatically considered for the scholarship.
Scholarships by the University of Calgary
Undergraduate entrance scholarships at the University of Calgary are also available to international students. Applicants will be evaluated based on their academic and extracurricular histories. In the first year, the recipient will receive a 15,000 CAD scholarship in the form of a tuition fee waiver.
They will be eligible for the scholarship for four years if they maintain an overall GPA of at least 2.65. The scholarship is valued at up to $60,000 CAD per recipient.
Ontario Tech University Scholarships
The fully-funded Ontario Tech University Scholarships without IELTS are also available to Canadian and international students in a variety of academic disciplines and degree levels.
Canadian Vanier Scholarship Awards
These awards are for doctoral students or students enrolled in a master’s program that leads directly to a Ph.D. Humanities, health sciences, natural sciences, or engineering are required subject areas. This extremely generous and competitive scholarship offers up to $50,000 annually for a maximum of three years.
There are 166 available Canadian scholarships. In order to apply, students will be referred by their respective universities. Applications submitted directly by students are not accepted.
The University of Toronto Lester B. Pearson Scholarships
This grant program is available to international students. These students must possess a strong sense of community, leadership, and excellence. The undergraduate-level scholarship will be awarded to a total of 37 students. The scholarship provides a full tuition waiver, free housing, and textbook coverage for four academic years.
