The 800th academic year since its inception will begin

Sergio Mattarella, President of the Italian Republic, attended the ceremony. Other speakers included the President of the Italian Senate, Maria Elisabetta Alberti Casellati, the President of the Council of Students, Emma Ruzzon, the Minister for University and Research, Maria Cristina Messa, and the President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola. The ceremony will be concluded by Professor Carlo Fumian’s inaugural lecture, “Above all liberties”: learning, speaking, and arguing according to conscience.

In recognition of the University of Padua’s position as one of the world’s oldest universities, the ceremony was preceded by a procession of rectors from Italian and international universities beginning at Palazzo Della Ragione.

Palazzo Bo guided tours

The anatomical theatre, Galileo Galilei’s Aula Magna, the Sala dei Quaranta (the “Hall of the Forty”), and the Aula di Medicina are all included in the guided tour of Palazzo Bo. Monday through Saturday.

Scholarship amount and duration:

The scholarship includes an €8,000 subsistence allowance as well as a tuition fee waiver. The only amount payable by beneficiary students each year is an admission fee equal to the regional tax and marca da bollo. The Departments of the University of Padua also offer partial scholarships.

The scholarship is valid for a maximum of two years for Master’s degree candidates and three years for Bachelor’s and Single Cycle degree candidates.

Eligibility:

You must meet the following requirements to be eligible:

do not have Italian citizenship (except for dual citizenship including Italian); hold a non-Italian upper secondary school certificate (for Bachelor’s or Single-cycle degrees applicants) or a non-Italian Bachelor’s degree (for Master’s degrees applicants) allowing admission to the Italian University system; do not reside in Italy; apply for one or more English-taught degree programs at the University of Padua in accordance with the procedures and deadlines You can apply for up to three-degree programs; pay the pre-enrolment fee (€ 30) by the application deadline.
