Scholarship Benefits:

Eligible students will be awarded a scholarship in the following ways:

  • Master’s degree (Level 1): $6666.66 per term plus ITF (international students) + relocation allowance (if applicable)
  • Doctoral (Level 2): $10000 per term + relocation allowance (if applicable) + two-year President’s Award

Criteria for Eligibility:

  • Killam awards are available to both Canadian and international applicants.
  • Applicants should have applied for funding from relevant provincial, national, or international organizations. For Canadians, this could include NSERC, SSHRC, CIHR, NSHRF, NSGS, and so on, depending on their discipline. Non-Canadian applicants should have applied for provincial scholarships (NSGS, etc.) as well as national/international scholarships for which they are eligible.
  • Killam Predoctoral Scholarship recipients must be eligible for scholarship support for a minimum of two years. This means that only newly admitted students will be considered for Master’s degrees. Only students who have spent less than 24 months in the program by May 1st of the award year will be considered at the Doctoral level.
  • Awardees must begin their awards as soon as possible, so doctoral program awardees are expected to begin their awards on May 1st.

Application Process:

Candidates can complete their graduate application form online or by printing. Following that, you must complete the application form.

Transcripts, reference letters, and other supplementary documentation should be submitted.

Requirements for Admission: Students must have the following materials:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree (four years)
  • A minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 (B average) in the previous 60 credit hours of study is required.
  • Degree conferred by a university of repute
