Cambridge Ph.D. Scholarships and Awards in UK 2023: 1. Cambridge International Scholarships and 2. Vice CHancellor’s Awards.

Cambridge International Scholarships – for applicants from countries other than the United Kingdom or Ireland Vice-Awards Chancellor’s – for UK and Irish nationals who must pay home rate fees
The Cambridge Trust is pleased to offer scholarships to applicants who will be pursuing Ph.D. research at the University of Cambridge in the coming academic year.

Level of Education:

Cambridge University Ph.D. Fellowships and Awards UK 2023 is available to pursue Ph.D. programs at the University of Cambridge.

The Cambridge International Scholarships and Vice-Awards Chancellor’s aim is to ensure that the highest-scoring students, regardless of nationality, receive full financial support to pursue Ph.D. studies. The Scholarships cover the University Composition Fee as well as a living allowance for a single person.

Eligible Nationalities:

Both international and domestic students from Ireland are eligible to apply for the scholarships listed below.

Eligibility Criteria:

In order to maximize the number of Scholarships awarded, the Trust will promote winners of Cambridge International Scholarships and Vice-Awards Chancellors to other full-cost awards with partner organizations, UK Research Councils, Departments, or Colleges, who are willing to provide either the full or a portion of the scholarship cost. If a portion of the cost of a scholarship is offered, the Trust will cover the remainder.

Application Procedure:

Applicants who wish to begin their PhDs in the following academic year must apply by either December 1, 2023, or January 5, 2024, depending on the course. Please see the ‘Application & Funding Deadlines’ section of the Postgraduate Admissions webpage.

All applicants should complete the funding section of the online application form via the Applicant Portal, ticking the box to express their “wish to be considered for funding” and filling out the Cambridge Trust section.

All Ph.D. applicants from all disciplines will be scored by a University Committee. Academic qualifications, references, and research potential are the only factors considered in agreeing to this list. The financial circumstances of applicants have no bearing on the selection of scholarship winners.

The Trust’s award period lasts from March to the end of July and is a continuous process throughout. In March, we make the majority of our full awards. Some of our partner-funded awards can take time, and we may be able to offer them elsewhere if they are declined. If you are the winner of one of these awards, you will be notified.
