International students from 9 Asian and Pacific countries can get an ADB scholarship to get a master’s degree. Almost every year, 300 students are chosen to receive this award. Scholarship Duration:

  • This is the first year of the ADB-JSP Japan Scholarship. If the scholar maintains an acceptable level of performance as determined by the institute, the scholarship may be extended to the second year of study.
  • The scholarship can be used for up to two (2) years to complete a master’s study.

Eligibility Criteria of the ADB Scholarships 2024

People who want to register for the ADB-JSP Japan Scholarship must meet the following requirements:

  • A citizen of a country that is a borrowing member of the ADB and is qualified for a Japanese ODA scholarship
  • Got into a recognized MA program at a college or university.
  • Having a bachelor’s degree or the equivalent and doing well in school is required.
  • After getting a college degree, you must have at least two (2) years of full-time professional work experience at the time of entry. Proficiency in both spoken and writing English is needed to be able to study.
  • At the time of application, you can’t be older than 35. In some rare cases, the age limit is 45 for programs that are meant for top executives and managers.
  • Feeling good.
  • Should be willing to go back to his or her home country when the program is over.
  • The Scholarship is not open to Executive Directors, Alternate Directors, management and staff of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), advisors, or close family members of those people.
  • People who work at ADB–JSP-designated schools can’t get the Scholarship.
  • People who apply for scholarships but live or work in a place other than their home country are not eligible.
  • It is not possible for students who are already in graduate school to get help from ADB–JSP.
  • ADB–JSP does not pay for college courses, online learning, short-term training, conferences, seminars, writing theses, or research projects.

How candidates are Selected for ADB-JSP Japan Scholarship?

The school will sort and rank the applicants based on its own selection criteria, while also taking into account the ADB’s eligibility standards and selection criteria. During the review process, the school may get in touch with the candidates to find out more. The school will then send ADB its ranked list of applicants, along with a description of the scoring or grading method used to make the rankings.

Academic schools will send their proposals to the Asian Development Bank (ADB), which will then review them and choose awardees based on its own criteria. The Executive Director of Japan will then officially approve the selection.

Once the Executive Director of Japan gives the go-ahead, the ADB will let the academic schools know who the winners are.

The school will let all applicants know how they did in the selection process and start making plans for the winners to start their grants.

Scholars agree that when they finish school, they will go back to their home country. The schools will make sure that the recipients of the scholarships sign an agreement of acceptance.

The ADB will send a suitable letter of congratulations to scholars through the school.

  • Those who want to apply should let the school know that they are asking for admission and would like to be considered for the ADB-JSP Scholarship.
  • The academic school should receive the completed institution application form along with any other necessary documents, such as the ADB-JSP application sheet form.
  • Applicants must make sure that the paperwork they send in is correct and full.
